Learn about canning fruit with Rebecca from Three Birds Farm.
Learn basic instructions on canning summer's fruit bounty. We will walk you through how to make simple jam and apple sauce to can and keep in your pantry for enjoyment during the winter. Each participant will go home with instructional worksheets, some fresh canned applesauce and a recipe booklet to use with their summer bounty.
This class is taught by Rebecca Winnicki, owner of Three Birds Farm. Rebecca devotes her time to being an herbalist, running a permaculture farm business, creating culinary dishes, and homeschooling her three children. She has spent the last 15 years living her passion by creating natural teas, foods that heal the body, and gentle yet effective skincare products. She has embraced a life of natural and sustainable practices such as homesteading, and utilizing old-world knowledge to teach her family and neighbors. Rebecca is working toward becoming a clinical herbalist, growing her cooking teaching classes, and expanding her farming business.
Registration begins Friday, July 25 at 10:15am.
Registration is required. This is an on-site, in-person program. The library reserves the right to reschedule programs.
The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
