If you have ever thought about becoming a backyard beekeeper or if you are really curious about bees, then, this practical presentation is for you.
Michal Bendell, a local beekeeper, teaches everything you need to know about starting and maintaining your own beehive. You will learn about the management and social system of bees and the inner workings of the hive. Mike will demonstrate the equipment and tools you will need. He will review the usual costs and let you know the best places to shop, especially if you are on a budget. Finally, he will talk about the various business models for beekeeping and the many products you could produce beyond honey.
Registration is appreciated, but walk-ins will be welcome as long as there is space. This is an on-site, in-person program. If you have any questions regarding the library’s policies and programming, please call us at 732-873-8700 x 111. The library reserves the right to reschedule programs.
The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
