Google Chrome
Monday, February 13 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane
Google is more than just a search engine. This class will start by discussing the Google Chrome Internet browser and how it can be used to make web browsing easier. We will cover features like history, downloads and bookmarks as well as some hidden tips and tricks to get more out of a basic Google search. We will also talk about Google Drive including the productivity software that is available through a Google account that allows you to have access to your documents from multiple devices. You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and re-sizing windows before taking this class.
Topics in Excel
Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00-7:30pm at DeMott Lane
Learn more of the basics of this popular software program designed for storing, organizing and manipulating data. Participants will create a basic spreadsheet during class and practice using some more of the tools in this program. Registrants should have already taken Introduction to MS Excel 2013 before taking this class, or at least have familiarity with Excel basics.
Google Docs & Sheets
Monday, February 27 at 10:30am-12:00pm at DeMott Lane
Learn to use Google Docs and Sheets, a free, web-based alternative to Microsoft Word and Excel. You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and re-sizing windows before taking this class.
Bring your own laptop or device or borrow one of ours.
No registration necessary but limited space is available; patrons will be admitted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis.
This is an on-site, in-person program. Masks are now optional. In-person programming capacity is limited and the Community Room will be set up for proper social distancing. If you have any questions regarding the library’s COVID-19 policies and programming, please call us at 732-873-8700 x 111.
The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
