This program will go over several astronomy tools, tips, and websites that are great resources to help you get the most out of the hobby. Presented by The Franklin Township Astronomy Club, an open and inclusive club which promotes both the science and joy of astronomy and its related activities. This is an introductory-level session— no advanced degrees required! There will be plenty of time for questions.
This is a hybrid program: you can watch the lecture from home if you'd like, or you can join us at the library. Zach will bring a big telescope for after the session and will invite attendees to view some targets, pending weather. You can also bring their own telescopes and Zach can help answer any questions you have about your equipment after the session.
Registration is required. A link to the Zoom meeting will be included in your confirmation email (sent after you register) and a reminder email (sent one day prior to the program). If you do not receive the emails, please call the library. The 'meeting room' will open 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the program.
The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
