New to yoga? Learn the foundations for establishing a safe and effective yoga practice.
Whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice you will find this class is balanced and accessible with options for beginners and more experienced students. Build strength and flexibility while improving balance and ease at your own pace. Foundational poses are taught with progressions available for those seeking a deeper challenge. Students are encouraged to honor their own pace & body.
Supplies needed: a yoga mat is preferable, but if you don't have a yoga mat, you might want to put a towel or blanket on a carpeted surface. The instructor sometimes uses yoga blocks. You can substitute a stack of books if you don't have blocks. Sometimes the instructor uses yoga straps; potential alternatives include a scarf, a small towel, or a belt.
Participants should consult their personal physician before beginning any exercise routine.
