Community Room

A free, basic ESL conversation group for students who have a basic working knowledge of English and wish to gain more confidence speaking English.

Conversation groups are a great way to practice speaking English in a welcoming space with friendly people.

Each week a volunteer tutor from the Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County will lead an interesting discussion. Example topics include:

  • American culture, history and holidays
  • English idioms and slang
  • Current events
  • Health and wellness
  • Sports, hobbies, and much more!

You must be at least 18 years old and able to speak basic English.

This 10-week session runs from April 14 through June 16*. Attend as many classes are you are able! *No class 5/26

Registration is not required: walk-ins are welcomed as long as there is space!

The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
