Learn to make sourdough bread with Rebecca Winnicki of Three Birds Farm
*This class is a repeat of the class held in September at our Franklin Park branch. Please do not register if you attended that class as it is the same and we are offering it again with the intention of being able to include people who missed out last time!*
Old world sourdough is a way to create nutrient riches bread at home with simple ingredients (flour, sat & water). Our class will walk you through each detail on how to keep your sourdough starter alive and how to make bread at home. You have the opportunity to bring your loaf home and cook it after class. We will also go over other ways to use the starter to make everything from crackers, donuts, bagels and granola.
All participants will receive: a sourdough starter, a loaf to bring home to cook, a recipe sourdough booklet and treats made from sourdough.
This class is taught by Rebecca Winnicki, owner of Three Birds Farm. Rebecca devotes her time to being an herbalist, running a permaculture farm business, creating culinary dishes, and homeschooling her 3 children. She has spent the last 15 years living her passion by creating natural teas, foods that heal the body, and gentle yet effective skincare products. She has embraced a life of natural and sustainable practices such as homesteading, and utilizing old-world knowledge to teach her family and neighbors. Rebecca is working toward becoming a clinical herbalist, growing her cooking teaching classes, and expanding her farming business.
Registration begins Friday, November 1 at 10:15am.
