Megabyte Mondays are the library's weekly computer and technology classes.
Join us for a four-part series on using Microsoft Excel! You do not need to attend all of the classes, but you are strongly encouraged to attend Part 1 if you are new to Excel.
October 7: Microsoft Excel Part 1 – Introduction to Excel
Learn the basics of this popular software program designed for storing, organizing and manipulating data. This class will discuss the parts of a spreadsheet, including columns, rows and cells. Participants will create a basic spreadsheet during class. You must be able to use a mouse and be familiar with basic computer concepts such as opening, closing, and re-sizing windows before taking this class
October 14: Microsoft Excel Part 2 – Introduction to Formulas & Functions
Learn what formulas do and how you can make your own. This class will also discuss the various functions within Microsoft Excel and how they can be used to your benefit. Participants should have a basic understanding of Excel prior to taking this class.
October 21: Microsoft Excel Part 3 – Manipulation of Worksheets, Graphs & Charts
Using what has been learned in the previous Introductions classes, participants will learn how to get all of their data into Excel so it is organized and then make graphs or charts from that data. This is an advanced level class so participants should an understanding of the fundamentals of Excel prior to attending.
October 28: Microsoft Excel Part 4 – Security & Sharing of Workbooks, Analyzing Data & Pivot Charts
Participants in this class will learn how to keep the data of their Workbooks secure, especially when sharing with other collaborators or viewers. This class will also go over data analyzation building upon the charts and graphs knowledge from previous classes. Participants will finish this class learning about Pivot Charts – when and how to use them.
Bring your own laptop or device or borrow one of ours.
No registration necessary but limited space is available; patrons will be admitted into the program on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
