Community Room

A free, basic ESL conversation group for students who have a basic working knowledge of English and wish to gain more confidence speaking English.

Conversation groups are a great way to practice speaking English in a welcoming space with friendly people.

Each week a volunteer tutor from the Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County will lead an interesting discussion. Example topics include:

American culture, history and holidays
English idioms and slang
Current events
Health and wellness
Sports
Hobbies, and much more!

You must be at least 18 years old and able to speak basic English.

This 10-week session runs from September 16 through November 18*. Attend as many classes are you are able! *No class on November 11.

Registration is appreciated but not required. Walk-ins will be welcomed if there is space!

The 36,018 square foot Demott Lane Branch is located in the Franklin Township municipal complex and provides a large community room for library programming, as well as additional meeting room space for community groups, study rooms, public access computers, and more.
